Advent Concert: Bart Price and The Pillars of Joy

Start this Advent season off on the right note!!! On Saturday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m. Assumption Catholic Church will be hosting a very special evening of meditation and reflection on Advent. There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament along with melodious music, and meditations from Bart Price and The Pillars of Joy. The Pillars will be playing all new songs so come out and enjoy. Please join us for this wonderful evening. http://www.myspace.com/bartprice
The Pillars of Joy need your help. This will be the first time doing this at that parish. This will be a test for our community particularly the young adults in the community. You see Fr Fred has been gracious enough to open up his parish for the evening, and there is doubt that people
would show up for something like this at this time of year.
I have communicated with Deacon John at Assumption and I assured him that our community enjoys such evenings and that it should be well attended. If it goes well this could open the doors for other similar events to take place not only at assumption but other churches in our
diocese.
Besides JESUS will be in the house, I mean church!!
Please spread the word.
Peace and blessings
Sean

Thurs: Holy Mary and Sean Wilcox

This Thursday Emmaus is having our dear friend Sean Wilcox discuss St. Mary and her role in Salvation History. Sean is very knowledgeable about our Holy Mother. He used to be part of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. This religious order has a special devotion to our Lady. Sean will touch on topics such as Mary as Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate as well as go over some important insights into Mary's role in the Nativity story. Be sure to come out and enjoy the discussion.
On a side note: Emmaus got its start at Sean's house which is also the house we are having the Christmas Party at on the 12th. RSVP on the Evite I sent.

No Emmaus Meeting this Thursday or Movie Night

There will be no Emmaus Meeting this Thursday or Movie night this Tuesday. Have a great Thanksgiving and May God Bless you and your family. Remember that the word "Eucharist" is Greek for "Thanksgiving". So let us be thankful for the Eucharist for the first Thanksgiving was the Last Supper.

Emmaus at Christ the King This Thursday at 6:30
Christ the King has invited us to help out again with their annual special dance for residents of Harbor House this Thursday at 6:30. All we need to do is show up and have a pleasant conversation with the residents and/or get the dance started! Although this is technically a service project, I know that we walk away more blessed than anyone and it is so much fun to see the love and joy that God radiates through these precious ones of His. So come out and have some fun this Thursday with your Emmaus family and some new special friends!

Thursday at Emmaus: Learn about American saints

This Thursday at Emmaus we will learn about lives of five American saints: Blessed Kateri, Elizabeth Ann Seton, Solanus Casey, Frances Xavier Cabrini and John Neumann. We’ll discuss how the lives of these holy Americans can light our paths through the world today.
Also, if you come hungry, bring some $$ and we can order pizza!
Please come to St. Ephrem’s at 7:00 to pray the rosary together. The discussion will begin at 7:30. See you there.
Peace and blessings,
The Emmaus Core Team (Jeff, Jennifer, Joe, Liz and Sean)
